Lansdowne Club design competition launched

Lansdowne Club design competition launched

Working with the Lansdowne Club, Khaa has launched an invited competition with a paid honorarium to redesign the courtyard space of the historic club. Architectural practices have been asked to provide expressions of interest and a shortlist will be announced in early August.

The Lansdowne Club was opened in 1935 as a social, residential and athletic club offering memberships to men and women, an unusual practice at the time. The courtyard is located at the heart of the club and is a rare opportunity for outside space in central London, offering members and their guests an oasis of calm.

The invited practices have been asked to provide designs that will deliver a delightful and inspirational design. It is expected that the shortlist will comprise up to five practices, with the overall winner announced in December 2017.
