How will retail technology change the high street and how should Redchurch Street respond?

The shortlist for this ideas competition –  a call for ideas to imagine a new future for one of London’s most characterful streets – has been announced. Ideas from Žilvinas Stasiuleviius, Anna Janiak Studio, Spacehub, Tomos Design + Studio Yu, and a collaboration between Martin Richman, EPR Architects and Waymap were selected from over forty entries.

Open to everyone, we asked for competitors to consider how technology will interplay with place, and how communities can harness the digital age. The five shortlisted teams will receive an honorarium of £1,000 and the overall winner will be announced on 2 December 2019. In the meantime, all entries will be exhibited at 31 Redchurch Street, E2 7DJ (opening hours Monday-Friday).

Images of the shortlisted entries are below, and onRedchurch will be launching a website soon with more detail on each submission.
